DaVita will host the Latino Corporate Directors Association (LCDA) to share research and discuss its proactive efforts to enhance Latino representation on corporate boards in Colorado.

While the benefits of diversity on corporate boards are well-documented, Latinos have historically been systematically excluded and overlooked. With Latinos now comprising approximately 20% of the U.S. population, it is essential to include them in the boardroom to provide valuable insights into the evolving mainstream economy.

The Latino Corporate Directors Association (LCDA) is a membership-based organization of US Latinos at the highest level of corporate leadership and corporate governance, established to increase US Latino representation on corporate boards.

Date: Wednesday, October 2, 2024
Time: 5:00 - 8:00 PM MDT
Location: DaVita HQ - 2000 16th St Mall, Denver, CO 80202 (Google Maps)

Earlier this summer, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a major ruling overturning the Chevron doctrine, affording federal agencies less room to interpret the laws they administer and directing courts to rely on their own interpretations of ambiguous laws. The Chevron doctrine, established in 1984, directed courts to defer to an agency’s reasonable interpretation of an ambiguous statute that it administers. The doctrine had long been a cornerstone of modern administrative law. The decision to overturn the Chevron doctrine signals a fundamental shift in courts’ oversight of federal agencies. Will this new interpretative methodology level the playing field or will it create more discrepancies? What will the impact be on the regulatory outlook moving forward and is increased litigation inevitable?

Speakers:
Anne Segrest McCulloch, Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary,·Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco
Jeffrey H. Wood, Partner, Baker Botts
MODERATOR: F. Daniel Siciliano, Co-Founder and CEO,·Nikkl, Inc.

Why Attend? Join this SVDX webinar to discuss the ruling and its implications as we enter a new era of uncertainty in an evolving legal and regulatory landscape.

Board directors face unprecedented challenges in today’s world with increased responsibilities around board service - intense regulation, geopolitical factors, social complexities, and additional concepts around risk oversight. As part of this increased demand, board directors should consider their risk appetite before tackling the realities of risk management for their organization. Where on the scale does the board land - more averse or more open to risk? How will the board agree on the desired level of risk outside of personal risk tolerance level?

Why Attend? Join this SVDX webinar with a panel of experts who will discuss the realities of risk appetite for boards, the pitfalls of ignoring this consideration, and the communication needed to manage threshold and objectives.
