Launched in partnership with Morgan Stanley and curated exclusively for LCDA Members and Morgan Stanley partners, join us for our annual Latinas On Board Series, The Power of Networking. In a world where more than 60% of board seats are filled through personal and professional networks, creating powerful networks is crucial to increasing Latino board placement. And for Latinas, the smallest group represented on corporate boards, holding just 1% of those seats, it is even more important. Hear from our group of prominent Latina board members about their journey to the boardroom and the impact networking has had on that path. Participants include:

Moderator:     Ileana Musa, Managing Director, Head of International Banking & Lending, Morgan Stanley

Panelists:

Ofelia Kumpf, Director: Frontier Group Holdings, Inc.

Graciela Ivonne Monteagudo, Director: ACCO Brands Corp.; Driscoll's Inc. (private); iHeartMedia, Inc.; JuicePlus+ Company, LLC (private); WD-40 Co.

Recent research conducted by McKinsey & Co. reveals that Latino consumers are driving economic growth in the U.S. while their own needs go unmet. Over the past decade, Latinos have grown their household consumption to reach a cumulative $1 trillion market in , 2022. With $2.5 trillion in buying power, the Hipsanic market isn’t an opportunity–it’s a necessity. Hispanics make up nearly 20% of the U.S. population and the 2020 Census revealed that this group accounted for 51% of all new population growth. With 6 percent annual growth rate over the last decade, their household spend is higher compared to other groups at similar income levels, and yet marketing spend directed at Latinos is a disproportionate share  of overall advertising spend.  Latinos are conscious of their impactchoosing brands that value the environment and their employees, all of which makes them more influential than their income levels would suggest.

However, Latino consumers are often highly dissatisfied with the products offered to them—especially compared to their non-Latino White counterparts. This dissatisfaction ranges across product categories, from food and beverages to financial products, which may point to unresolved needs that impact their daily life. If brands address the drivers of dissatisfaction in terms of access and value proposition, there is a collective $109 billion of revenue at stake, when considering current spending and future potential should improved products be offered.

Join us for this session which will include the research presented by McKinsey, followed by a panel of LCDA members and other experts discussing the impact of this research on boardrooms in America.

Presenters:
Ana Calvo, Engagement Manager, McKinsey & Co.

Carolina Mazuera, Associate Partner, McKinsey & Co.

Panel Moderator:

Jacqueline Hernandez, Director: Victoria’s Secret & Co.; Estrella Media, Inc. (private)

Panelists:

Odette Bolano, President & CEO, Saint Alphonsus Health System; Director: IDACORP, Inc.

Lucy Perez, Senior Partner, McKinsey & Co.

Arthur Valdez, Director: Advanced Auto Parts, Inc.; Shipt (private)
