Webinar: Serving on the Board of a Federal Reserve Bank

There is a national push to diversify corporate boards, including public ones like the Federal Reserve Banks (FRB), which historically, have been predominately White and male. FRBs play a vital role in protecting their region’s economic interests and ensure that the public has influence in the central bank’s decisions including, keeping employment high, prices stable, and long-term interest rates in check. The Fed is also in charge of supervising and regulating banks to protect the U.S. banking system and its consumers. This is why ensuring diverse voices and leadership on these boards is essential to advancing their mission.

LCDA is proactively working with individual regional federal reserve banks to serve as a resource to support their board diversity efforts, as well as connect them with exceptional Latino executives.? There is a role for you to play if you are interested in these types of board opportunities.

We have put together a distinguished panel of speakers for a webinar on how you can serve on the board of a federal reserve board. Here is what you can learn from the session:

  • The structure of the FRB system – the basics
  • Board member types and criteria for an independent member seat and what FRBs are doing to diversify their boards
  • Tips on how LCDA members can position themselves for FRB board service
