LCDEF Webinars | Latino Board Tracker | Member Spotlight | LCDA News

Greetings LCDA Familia,

We are pleased to share our plans for LCDA's Pivot & Impact in a Time of Crisis and Recovery. With so many factors related to the pandemic still unknown, we are navigating this new normal and turning our focus to recovery by providing exceptional virtual programming, and investing in our digital and research capacity.

For LCDA and TPG, the health and safety of our members, colleagues, and staff drove our decision to postpone this year's in-person Convening. For the 2021 LCDA Board Leaders Convening, TPG will host us in San Francisco with a target date in October.

This year, we are re-launching our annual event as the 2020 LCDA Board Leaders Convening Reimagined - Leading in a Time of Crisis and Recovery, with virtual sessions between June and October. Board leadership is put to the test in this time of tremendous uncertainty and high-stakes realignment. This unprecedented pandemic has exacerbated the need for companies to reinvent business models and accelerated the pace of tech and virtual adoption, while keeping the health and well-being of the employee, customer, and community top-of-mind. Virtual attendees can look forward to quality, engaging, high-caliber programming, featuring board-level speakers for purpose-driven conversations related to our theme. Stay tuned for further details on the 2020 LCDA Board Leaders Convening Reimagined.

Second, as part of the BoardReady Institute (BRI), we've enhanced the program's curriculum to deliver monthly specialized, virtual sessions with subject matter experts and industry leaders focused on preparing and positioning aspiring directors for boardroom excellence. Click here for the upcoming BRI webinar exclusive to LCDA Executive Members.

Third, LCDA has partnered with McKinsey & Company to promote original industry research focused on the impact of the pandemic on the lives and livelihood of US Latinos. As with past economic crises and affirmed by recent reports, Latinos are once again projected to bear the brunt of coronavirus. Why is this important? The road to recovery leads through the US Latino population, an engine of consumer spending and workforce growth. We will share findings via virtual sessions with a community of business leaders and allies. More information to follow.

Fourth, today, we are proud to launch COVID-19: ESG Game Changers, a feature page on our website with online resources for directors and our broader business community. The page will visually catalogue innovative responses by corporations to mitigate the health, social, business and economic impact of the pandemic. Tailored Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and corporate, social responsibility actions that respond to the uncertain and evolving conditions caused by the pandemic are essential to promote good governance, social impact, and good will.

As we continue to scale-up with these groundbreaking initiatives, there is no time to slow down. Together, we will advance in overcoming this battle. We remain committed to our plan to drive forward on the progress already made and emerge stronger and better equipped, tomorrow.

Stay safe and healthy,

In partnership with our partner, McKinsey & Company, the Latino Corporate Directors Association (LCDA), co-hosted the 2020 Hispanic & Latino Economic Forum (HLEF). Our inaugural forum in 2019 was highly successful and included strong LCDA member engagement and attendance. In 2020, given current circumstances, HLEF will go virtual and hold a series of webinar discussions that build on one another. The first webinar is based on their April COVID-19 and jobs research and will also include additional nuggets on its impact and consequences for Latino families' health, income, and wealth.
