RECENT WEBINAR
LCDA most recently hosted a BoardSmart Online webinar, Serving on the Board of a Federal Home Loan Bank, Tuesday, April 7, 2020. FHLBanks play a vital role in providing liquidity to member institutions to support housing finance and community investments in their regions. This public mission places an important obligation on the banks to help address unmet housing needs of diverse, low- and moderate-income households. This is why ensuring diverse voices and leadership on these boards is essential to advancing their mission.
The webinar session was moderated by LCDA’s President & CEO, Esther Aguilera and panelists included John K. Reinke, Chair, Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago, Dan Siciliano, Chair, Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco and LCDA Member, and John von Seggern, President & CEO, Council of Federal Home Loan Bank. Over 23 LCDA members joined the discussion and learned about the structure of the FHLB system, its board member types and roles, and how candidates can position themselves for board service. LCDA will continue working with the Council of Federal Home Loan Banks and individual regional banks to support their board diversity efforts, as well as connect them with exceptional executives. There is a role for LCDA members to actively reach out to the Council, regional bank directors, or possible known connections to position themselves in front of them and be primed for consideration when board seats avail themselves.
BoardSmart Online Webinars are open to LCDA members only. Be on the lookout for a couple of our upcoming webinars:
